More about funding

With the recent updates to childcare funding, we have created a full and easy-to-understand Funding Guide that clearly explains everything you need to know about how funding works, including eligibility, available hours, and how funded childcare can be used at Alphabet House Day Nursery. All information relating specifically to funding is contained within this guide so that parents have one reliable place to find accurate and up-to-date details.

For families who would like a breakdown of session structures, fee information, and any optional additional costs, this can be found in our Alphabet House Information Pack, which is available to download using the link provided. This ensures that you have complete transparency around how our nursery operates and what to expect when planning your childcare.

If you have any questions, would like help understanding your funding options, or need any further information at any time, please feel free to contact us. We are always happy to support parents and provide any additional details you need.

Nursery Funded Fees

We are registered with Nottinghamshire County Council to offer funded childcare for eligible children aged 9 months to 4 years. Children eligible for 15 funded hours will take these term-time only, over 38 weeks of the year. Children eligible for 30 funded hours will have their funding automatically stretched across the year, with the total funded hours spread evenly over 51 weeks.

All funded hours are provided free of charge for eligible children.

For children accessing funded hours, a charge applies for meals during funded sessions. This is £4 per meal, with breakfast provided FREE OF CHARGE. Any hours attended outside of a child’s funded entitlement are charged at £10.85 per hour.

Parents who prefer not to use our meal provision are welcome to provide a packed lunch for their child during their sessions.

We’re happy to offer 100% free funded sessions between 8:00am and 3:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, subject to availability. For these sessions, we kindly ask parents to provide a packed lunch for their child. Any additional consumables or session enhancements will be charged separately.

While funded childcare covers the core hours of care, it does not include certain additional experiences and consumables that help enrich your child’s time with us. To support the best possible experience for children, we offer an “Additionals and Extras” charge, which contributes towards items such as special activities, experiences, resources, and everyday consumables used throughout the day.

Parents may choose to opt out of the Additionals and Extras charge; however, in this case, any additional items or experiences will be charged separately as they arise.

The Additionals and Extras charges are:
£12.50 for a full day
£8.75 for a half day
£6.25 for a short day
